Christmas at Nottingham Castle runs from Friday, November 28th to Sunday January 4th, 2026 (excluding Dec 25, 26, and Jan 1), offering a range of activities for family and friends.

Key Events & Attractions:

Christmas Market: The festive season kicks off with a three-day Christmas Market in collaboration with It's in Nottingham, running from November 28 to November 30. Pre-booked tickets are required for this event.

Winter Woodland Santa’s Grotto: Meet Santa and his friends in the magical Winter Woodland Santa’s Grotto located at Brewhouse Yard (NG7 1FB).  Admission is separate from the Castle: Child (1–15 years) is £15, Adult is £8, and Under 1s are free (no gift).

Festive Afternoon Tea: Indulge in a special Festive Afternoon Tea, available on Saturdays and Sundays from December 6 to 21. The price is £30 for Adults and £15 for Children (under 12), and critically, the tea includes entry to Nottingham Castle for that visit.

Activities (Standard Admission Applies) Standard site admission grants access to several festive activities:

The Candy Cane Indoor Trail: Find the hiding Candy Cane in the Castle galleries. A trail sheet is available for £2 from the shops/cafés starting November 28.

Festive Story Time: Takes place at 1:30 pm on weekends (located at Robin Hood Adventures entrance).

Festive Indoor Games: Self-led games available all day, with guided activities from 12 pm to 3 pm.

Wishing Tree: Write your wishes and find the tree inside the Castle from 11 am to 4 pm.

Visitors can also enjoy the Cafés & Shop for gifts and treats, and take Wintery Walks to appreciate the seasonal grounds.
