Alton Towers doesn't do Halloween by halves, with late opening, rides after dark, family-friendly spooky attractions and full-on scare mazes.

For 2026 there are new scares in the mix too, including Final Exhibit and Edge of the Forest.

Alton Towers Scarefest 2026

Date: 26th to 27th September, 2nd to 4th October, 9th to 11th October and 16th October to 1st November 2026

Time: Theme Park entry until 9pm on Scarefest ticket packages.

Cost: 1 Day Tickets online from £37, or £68 on the day. Some Scarefest attractions and scare mazes cost extra.

Alton Towers: Scarefest for families

For families, the 2026 programme includes shows, character meet and greets, photo opportunities and spooky walkthrough attractions. Amigos in the Afterlife is recommended for ages 6+ and takes visitors through a colourful Día de los Muertos-inspired world, while Trick O' Treat Town is more tasty than it sounds.

Alton Towers: Scarefest for the brave-est

For the hardy, the 2026 line-up includes Altonville Mine Tours: Tiny's Revenge and COMPOUND, plus two new scare mazes, Final Exhibit and Edge of the Forest

Final Exhibit, Edge of the Forest and Altonville Mine Tours are recommended for ages 12+. These aren't included with a standard Theme Park ticket, so check exactly what your ticket covers before setting off.

Alton Towers after dark...

One of Scarefest's highlights is simply being in the park after dark. Alton Towers specifically highlights the chance to ride attractions including The Smiler, Nemesis Reborn and Wicker Man in darkness, so even families skipping the scare mazes still get something noticeably different from a normal daytime visit.

Children under 90cm can enter the Theme Park free. If you're adding scare attractions, check the individual age recommendations and prices when booking, as these vary considerably depending on which experience you choose.
