Lakeside Arts is a brilliant all-weather, all-ages day out in one of Nottingham’s prettiest spots. Inside, you’ll find a mix of galleries and exhibitions, a museum of archaeological finds from across the East Midlands, and a gallery shop full of handcrafted gifts. There’s something to spark curiosity in every age group.

The venue is also the region’s leading home for children’s and family theatre, with a programme of theatre, comedy and dance designed for a wide range of ages. Every family show gives an age guide, so it’s easy to pick the right one for your little ones. Performers are used to family audiences, so wriggles and toilet trips are no problem.

Outside, Lakeside sits right next to Highfields Park, with a children’s play area, boat hire on the lake, adventure golf and foot golf. Pop into the Pavilion Café or Gallery Café for a bite, then let the kids stretch their legs by the water.
