The New Art Exchange, known as NAE, is the UK’s largest gallery dedicated to contemporary visual arts from the Global Ethnic Majority. Based in Hyson Green, it’s a creative space that champions diversity and inclusivity and gives a platform to voices that are often underrepresented in the art world.

A visit to NAE is a great way to introduce children and young people to bold, thought-provoking contemporary art and to stories and perspectives from a wide range of cultures. It’s a welcoming spot for families who enjoy exploring art together, sparking conversations and seeing the world through different eyes.

NAE is also a hub for creativity and community. It supports emerging talent and is home to the VOICE assembly, a citizen-led group that helps shape how the gallery is run. There’s a café on site too, so you can make a relaxed day of it.
