Nottingham Central Library is a bright, modern space designed for the whole community to explore, create and connect. For families, the real star is the children’s library on the ground floor. It was created with input from local young people and was designed to be one of the best in the country.

At the heart of the children’s library is a magical storytelling tree, surrounded by real birch trunks, where little ones can gather for stories and shared reading moments. Bespoke shelving creates cosy, intimate reading nooks inspired by local architecture. There is also a flexible maker space where children and families can get creative together.

Don’t miss the immersive room. A fairytale-style doorway leads into a 360° storytelling space where stories come to life around you. The library also runs regular storytimes, toddler sessions and children’s clubs, so there is often something new to try. Check the library’s website for the latest sessions.
