The University of Nottingham Museum of Archaeology is a free-to-enter, award-winning museum tucked away on University Park Campus. Its collection covers an incredible 250,000 years, mostly telling the story of the region’s past, with smaller collections from Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Egypt.

One of the museum’s real strengths is the way it shows what everyday life was like for people across thousands of years. Seeing the objects people actually used, from tools to treasures, is a brilliant way to spark curiosity and bring history to life for curious young minds and grown-ups alike.

Because entry is free, it’s an easy and relaxed addition to a day out, whether you’re exploring the campus, visiting nearby Lakeside Arts or looking for something different to do on a rainy day.
